Operations and growth

Australian FibreOptic Solutions growth has led to a need for more staff and major capital investment. The company now employs over 50 full-time staff with its majority working in the field.  This growth has also fueled the acquisition of specialised equipment. Australian FibreOptic Solutions has a fleet of specialist vehicles, each equipped with the latest technology essential for the installation and testing of fibre optic and copper data cables.

The company has a range of fully equipped smaller vans as well as larger trucks that handle the large optical fibre splicing systems. Due to its expansion in 2006 the company moved to new premises located at Coopers Plains, in Brisbane.

Training and Development

To help meet the needs of the growing industry we employ several full time and school based apprentices.  From the start apprentices are given the correct tools to do the job and are monitored by our qualified staff and through the company’s own quality control systems.  Many of our qualified staff have come through our apprentice program and become valuable assets to the company.

Commitment to quality and safety

Australian FibreOptic Solutions is currently registered to AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 standards. These demanding standards are regularly monitored by an independent auditor to ensure that they are maintained. With certified systems and procedures that adhere to this internationally recognised standard, the company’s competence means customers receive a consistently high level of service.

Workplace Safety

The company has a safety policy in place and has employed a full time safety officer to ensure that safety standards are met. There is a review of safety procedures with regular toolbox meetings with staff as well as long-term reviews of procedures.

Future plans

Australian FibreOptic Solutions is looking to embrace new technologies. The company aims to stay ahead of the curve by engaging in regular research and development and are continually looking for opportunities to expand into other areas, both technologically and geographically.
